Parshah

The Tanach is split into three sections:

  1. The Torah
  2. The Prophets
  3. The Writings

The Torah is composed of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Every year the Jewish people complete a reading of the Torah. They do this by reading a section from one of the books of the Torah each week. This section from the Torah is called a Parshah. This page is dedicated to the weekly parshah.
